Best Design Concept
A modern mid-century house successfully marries the timeless elegance of mid-century aesthetics with contemporary and classical elements. The result is a residence space that is both stylish and functional, emphasizing the importance of clean lines, natural materials, and a balance between old and new. The concept came where when the owner was studying in Europe at a young age, he was deeply influenced by the local culture and the timeless mid-century design style and very fond of it. Upon returning to Malaysia and after several years, he acquired his own home and made the deliberate decision to infuse it with the distinctive mood of mid-century design.
Since the owner is a believer in 'Feng Shui,' he made significant changes to the home's layout. Firstly, we swapped the locations of the living room between bedroom to make the living space with an open balcony and enjoy a beautiful view. Additionally, owner prefers not to cook frequently, the decision was made to downsize the kitchen area and expand the foyer to create a more welcoming entrance. Furthermore, we transformed the existing powder room into a storage room and cat room, while the small bedroom was repurposed into a spacious master wardrobe which tailoring the design to the customer's preferences.
Checkered ceiling adds a strong visual impact to the living room. Incorporate furniture with wooden accents, gold trimming & complement the wood in the room. It exudes a sense of lordly and tradition, creating an atmosphere that is both dignified and inviting.
The color palette in this space is a combination of deep tones and earthy shades with mahogany brown, beige tone and forest green are used for the elements. These elements serve a purpose and contributes to a sense of peace & calm and this aesthetic choice adds to the overall sense of order and tranquility.
